The price development of electric vehicles

Electric cars are still too expensive for many, although there is great interest in switching to electric mobility. The Tagesschau has published an article about this, which shows what obstacles the energy transition still faces and how electric vehicles can be made accessible to the general public. By 2030, 15 million electric cars are expected to be in use in Germany. So far, only 1.3 million electric vehicles are driving on German roads, costing an average of 52,700 euros.

Environmental bonus for electric vehicles: This has changed since December 18, 2023

Wallboxes – charging stations for electric cars in residential buildings

They are the inconspicuous heroes who charge electric cars at home and take the convenience of electric mobility to a new level: the wallboxes. They establish a connection between the power line and the electric car and control that the correct amount of electricity is used for charging. Various protective devices prevent overvoltages, residual currents or overloads. This means they offer a safer option than charging via a household socket, as there is a risk of fire. Ideally, they have high current and a charging capacity of up to 22 kW.

EU charging infrastructure for electrically powered trucks

According to the Federal Statistical Office, trucks and buses emitted 199.8 million tons of CO2 in Europe in 2021. This means they are responsible for more than a quarter of the CO2 emissions in EU road transport. Since truck traffic in particular does not stop at the German national border and is encouraged by global trade, a European solution must be found in order to achieve climate protection goals. Instead of fossil fuel truck transport, the future is primarily seen in the use of battery-electric trucks. This requires a Europe-wide dense and powerful network of charging stations.
